Zooka is now Fastest Free-legged Pacer Ever

July 22, 2007

Zooka paced to a winning mile of 1:49.3 in a Kawartha Downs Invitational Saturday night--making him the fastest ever pacer free-legged, the first to break the 1:50 barrier. That time equals the fastest mile in Canadian history over a 5/8 mile track, and ties him with Lis Mara's Rideau Carlton clocking in 2006. That time is also a track record and bests Stonebridge Galaxy's 1:51.2 mile by nearly two full seconds.

Trained by Ben Wallace and driven by Mario Baillargeon, Zooka has won seven of 19 starts this year, with over $850,000 in career earnings.
