World Trotting Derby A Go for 2007

Du Quoin State Fair manager John Rednout Jr. said the World Trotting Derby will return to the fair’s harness racing lineup next year, during a meeting of the Du Quoin Chamber of Commerce recently. Rednour said Derby Day at the fair needs to be "an event, a production, with a festival atmosphere, entertainment and a celebration of harness racing in Illinois." He said the Trotting Derby is on the 2007 schedule, but has no definite plans after that. He said if the fair terminates the race it would not be moved, it would simply end.
