May 28, 2007

Man About Town coasted to a 1:53 win in the $48,500 Hiram Woodruff Final on Monday afternoon at the Meadowlands. Driven by Brian Sears, Man About Town claimed the lead before the half and trotted off to a two-length victory over Valley Sport. Euro Hanover finished third after launching a first-over attack.

"He was the best horse in the race and I just wanted to put him on the front," Sears said. "I was able to back [the pace] down pretty good and I was pretty confident in front, once I got to the half in :56. He was pretty confident from there on."

Trained by Mark Silva, Man About Town notched his fourth win at the Meadowlands. Prior to dropping into the Hiram Woodruff, he won an $85,000 Classic Series division in 1:53.3. Donato Poliseno of Hartly, Delaware owns the four-year-old gelding.
