Fox Valley Barzgar Wins Wilson

August 4, 2006

Tony Morgan gave Fox Valley Barzgar a perfect steer to capture the $410,000 Woodrow Wilson in 1:50.2, a new stakes record and the fastest edition of the Wilson ever recorded.

“He earned some respect last week and I was hoping it would go the way it did,” winning driver Tony Morgan said. “It just worked out as a good trip. He’s a good colt and he was well prepared. I was so shocked that he was so relaxed tonight. He was on the bit last week. He felt like he’d do whatever you wanted to do tonight.”

Fox Valley Barzgar drew off to a three-length victory over Mr Apples. Artzina had his winning streak snapped at three, finishing third by seven lengths. Fox Valley Barzgar eclipsed the stakes record of 1:51.1 set by Allamerican Native in 2002. The son of Incredible Finale, owned by Michael Polansky of Loudonville, New York, improved his record to four wins in five starts and earnings of $231,950.
