Thursday, January 26, 2006

Vysoke Tatry, who swept the Snow Angel Series in December, added the $48,000 White Ruffles Final to her resume on Thursday at the Meadowlands. The four-year-old homebred daughter of Dragon’s Lair--Tatras won by two and three-lengths for Andy Miller in 1:53.2, her second win in three starts this year and ninth in 13 career attempts. Miller drove the mare for his brother, trainer Erv Miller.

”She gets a little lost on the front end but having post nine and a windy night I wanted to be up close,” Andy noted. “She can go with better horses. She’s fresh; she hasn’t had a lot of starts.”

Vysoke Tatry--named for a mountain resort in Slovakia--pushed her career earnings to $83,980 for the Andray Farm of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Andray Farms is the nom de racecourse for brothers David, John and Dan Prushnok.
