WEG Honors 2006 Performers

December 18, 2006

The Woodbine Entertainment Group held its annual Awards gala Sunday evening at Mohawk, where its divisional champions were honored. Standout three-year-old trotting ridgling Majestic Son was unveiled as Horse of the Year off the strength of his dominant campaign.

"At the beginning of the year, I had hoped that we would be in this position with him, but to hope for it and for it to be reality are two totally different things," said trainer Mark Steacy. Steacy also reiterated that his stable star will be returning to the races as a four-year-old in 2007.
