Victor's Finesse Wins $56,000 Violet Stake Final
Monday, October 17, 2005
Victor's Finesse romped to her tenth win of the year in 15 tries for driver Andy Miller at Maywood Park on Monday night. Trained by his brother Erv Miller, Andy reined the freshman daughter of Valley Victor to a 2:00.3 clocking over Chicago's half-miler.
"The track was good tonight but I didn't want to leave hard with her from the rail," Andy noted. "I knew there were others who were going to hustle out of there and I was confidnet that my filly would go when I asked her to. I never even pulled the ear plugs. I'm not sure if this is going to be her last race of the season or not, she may have one more start left."
Victor's Finesse pushed her career earnings to $232,805 with the win. She recorded a mark of 1:55.4 earlier in the year at Springfield. Fox Valley Shimmy (Pat Berry) finished second in the Violet, while longshot Miss Sashi (Dale Hiteman) was third.
