Rick Schrock

Horseman Rick Schrock has been involved with harness racing for all of his life. The Decatur, Illinois native has been active in all facets of the business, as a trainer, driver, owner, breeder and as a member of the Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association Board of Directors.

While he's been driving and training seriously since 1995, in the past few seasons Schrock as begun to earn a reputation as a colt trainer, taking yearlings purchased by other horsemen at the Illinois sales and elsewhere, and getting them broken and started training in his central Illinois location at the Springfield fairgrounds, before turning them over to their original trainers for the start of the 2-year-old campaigns. Schrock has readied prospective racehorses for such Chicago-based trainers as Dave McCaffrey.
