Friday, November 18th - Opening Night – Fall Meet
Analysis by: Grey Stable Tony Lasinski
A Note from Tony: We’re back..…and thanks to Kim and Odds On Racing for having us be a part of their website for a 2nd year … and its that time again, the opening of the Fall Harness Meet featuring Breeders Crown Elimination Races this weekend … we will recommend treading lightly and definitely look for betting value with horses coming off long layoffs and elimination races.
Race One: Charles Singer Memorial-1st Leg 3YO (5) WHOSETHEMASTER key early speed and the return to Miller (10) OFF THE WALL should appreciate the return to the big track and major factor if Gregory gets her into good early position (4) MALVICTORIAN faded late after brush attempt in 2nd start lasix at Freehold and gets Sears back
Race Two: Breeders Crown Elim - 3YO FP (D) (5) DIGGA DIGGA no shot from post #10 at Woodbine, but closed well in 27.3, parlayed perfect trip to win Cinderella at Maywood, upset shot (1) MODERN MEDICINE barn switch to Burke off the sale, has shown flashes of talent (7) RESTIVE HANOVER slow to get it together in her soph season, goes 1st time lasix
Race Three: Breeders Crown Elim – 3YO FP (D) (5) BELOVEDANGEL big uncovered effort with fast 27.3 3rd quarter for top Breeders Crown connections (3) CABRINI HANOVER has stayed very sharp and qualifier was impressive (4) IFYOUCOULDCWHATIC beat Cabrini Hanover on 9/5 at Mohawk, prepped well at Woodbine against older
Race Four: Charles Singer Memorial-1st Leg 3YO Trot (1) ANGEL PIE tough filly has been very sharp of late and lands in the Steve Elliot barn and gets the services of talented trotman Jeff Gregory (6) SAFARI HEAT impressive prep at Rosecroft for former top trainer/driver at Vernon Downs, Lloyd Gilmour (9) SEDUCER HALL another impressive filly impressed from post #9 at Pocono and picks up Campbell
Race Five: Breeders Crown Elim – 3YO FT (D) (1) HER CULESE has been on a roll since her win in the Filly Zweig in Syracuse in August (4) BLUR was impressive in her qualifier after some needed time off but may elect to race off the pace to qualify in usual Smedshammer prep tactics (5) COURTNEY HALL obviously talented filly from top trotting family, major closing threat
Race Six: Breeders Crown Elim – 3YO FT (D) (8) FLAWLESS BLUESTONE consistent filly should be on the move early (1) REINVENT racing well of late and should stay close to qualify easily from the rail (2) VYINGFORTHECROWN when trotting can close with a rush, hobbles go back on and 1st time lasix
Race Seven: Oil Burner Series 3YO C&G – 1st Leg (5) SMOKY BONZ horse loves the big track and can close a ton in the stretch, major barn change and gets Sears (2) REALISCAPE raced impressively in the Adios but will be overbet (1) ENTRY-MAGNUM has 12 wins this season and should be cutting the mile
Race Eight: Breeders Crown Elim - 3YO C> (D) (5) FARMER JONES cant believe this is the same trotter we saw at Syracuse in August, picked up his game using his early speed at Colonial and debuts for Victor (5) MUSCLE MEMORY gets away from the Photo’s in here and qualified well after some needed rest (4) SMOOTH MUSCLES favorite in his last 4 should be firing out early and can upset with a trip
Race Nine: Breeders Crown Elim - 3YO C> (D) (2) VIVID PHOTO remains sharp and should control things (4) STRONG YANKEE prepped well in the Open at Pocono, probably content to close (3) SELF PROFESSED has been sharp of late, trotted big 26.4 2nd quarter in ez win on the off track at Balmoral, can upset
Race Ten: wo 25,000 Trot (5) MOHAMMED MALI big closing 2nd to Peaceful Way at Balmoral and returns to his favorite strip in 3rd start off layoff (3) NELSON NOVEMBER big effort from post #8 at Freehold but inconsistent on the big tracks (7) WOODY WOODROW beat Mohammed Mali easily on 10/30, major speed factor
Race Eleven: Charles Singer Memorial-1st Leg 3YO Trot (2) WITNESS TO HISTORY flashed some uncharacteristic early speed in prep for this and gets Miller (4) SUNDOWNER BOB Campbell/Sylvester team reunites (8) LOLIPOPS N ROSES gets the hopples after a couple of miscues at Indiana Downs, tough if she minds her manners and if Sears can get her into position early
Race Twelve: Oil Burner Series 3YO C&G – 1st Leg (2) SIDEREAL HANOVER puts his 6 race winning streak on the line but major speed threat (1) ENTRY both are formidable but preferred horse VILLAGE JOSHUA draws outside (2) FOUR STARZ ALLGOOD debuts for Crissman after decent qualifier against Carlspur
Race Thirteen: Charles Singer Memorial-1st Leg 3YO Trot (8) HILLCREST VICTORY post position woes continue but does have some early speed for top Midwest racing connections and 1st time Ledford (3) THE GLIMMER GIRL Sears not on Smedshammer horse but one who is 19 for 35 lifetime and equally effective on or off the pace (5) CALEDONIA rare to see Dube on a Smedshammer horse bit this filly too has talent and raced well earlier on the big track at Lexington
