for Saturday, November 26, 2005 – Featuring the Breeders Crown

Analysis by: Grey Stable’s Tony Lasinski

We’re back and thanks to Kim and Odds On Racing for having us be a part of their great website for a 2nd year … and its that time again, the opening of the Fall Harness Meet featuring the Breeders Crown Finals tonight !

Race One:  nw 12,500
(2) TAYLORLANE ACE
lets start tonight off with a live longshot, offered good late pace in qualifier off slow half and was racing well when shipped from Canada (5) CUNNING LIAR drops slightly off first start off layoff going uncovered and gets Sears (4) ALERT MOTORING N Brennan’s choice of 2 doesn’t have a great win percentage here but has been racing well at Freehold and can get into the mix with his early speed (1) THE GLOBE obviously needed the rest but will get overbet from the rail

Race Two:  Breeders Crown 2YO F Trot (D)
(4) PURE IVORY winning machine was impressive in 1st start here from post #8 roughing it practically the whole mile, gets a master with young ones in Condren (1) MERLES PEARL odds on in all her previous races until last week from post #9, sharp last half in .57, look for her to be close throughout from the rail and her early speed (3) MACARIA HANOVER fastest mile by 2YOFT in her elim, Palone may be looking to cut the mile (2) PASSOINATE GLIDE Taker horse hard to overlook with Pierce as she made up a lot of ground to get into the race last week, feel she may have to go the uncovered route.

Race Three:  Breeders Crown 2YO F Pace (D)
(6) DARLINS DELIGHT the NY bred has turned it up a few notches since winning the NYSS final at Saratoga, 13 out of 13 1st or 2nd, prepped well coming home in 27.0 (3) LONESOME DAY is also 9 for 9, 1st or 2nd, Sweetheart winner may be looking for similar trip as last weeks elim (9) MY LITTLE DRAGON not as battle tested as top two and puts her unbeaten streak to the test from post #8 and off scratch sick line

Race Four:  Breeders Crown 2YO C&G Trot (D)
(1) CHOCOLATIER only wire to wire winner in last Saturday’s closing bias card and sure to be sitting an antsy pocket trip on RC ROYALTY (5) RC ROYALTY NYSS champ faded after big front end effort, will leave as usual (2) MAKE YOU MINE closed well in 28.1 for top trotting combo of Gurfien/Lachance but may have to go 1st over (8) MR PINE CHIP game uncovered effort against Chocolatier, big chance if Palone can give him the 2nd over trip

Race Five:  Breeders Crown 3YO C&G Trot (D)
(5) VIVID PHOTO went uncovered in fastest 3rd quarter of the night in fast last half and seemed to have more in the tank (3) STRONG YANKEE was impressive himself digging in gamely with Vivid Photo, different horse since racing with needed lasix (1) MUSCLE MEMORY returned to winning ways with previously fired driver Manzi, stays close to the top two from the rail (6) SELF PROFESSED look for him to revert to closing tactics and can get into the trifecta

Race Six:  nw 20,000
(6) ARTICULATOR is only 1 for 26 mainly racing over his head, gets a switch back to old familiar hands in Sears after decent late kick in qualifier (7) FAKE DENARIO N exits the high claimers after big effort from post #9 parked past the quarter in fast half against closing bias, probably reverts to closing tactics (5) TIBERON had some good pace when free, Pierce may elect to leave with him in this spot (3) QUICKSILVER SHARK the grey has added speed to his arsenal and exists some decent efforts at Dover

Race Seven:  Breeders Crown 3YOF Trot (D)
(3) BLUR returned with game mile after some time off after not taking to the Red Mile surface, expect her to be tighter off that effort for the current trot master Smedshammer
(5) HER CULESE as mentioned last week, has been on quite a form spree since win in the Filly Zweig at Syracuse in August, Filly Futurity winner prepped nicely herself closing in 56.2 against Blur (2) FLAWLESS BLUESTONE very impressive in her elim but hasn’t been able to get the measure of the top two (1) JUST LIKE DREAM a watch list horse for uncovered effort in fast last half but will likely have to earn it the hard way with expected 1st over effort

Race Eight:  Breeders Crown 3YO F Pace (D)
(3) RESTIVE HANOVER
2YO BC champ looked like her old self with impressive sweep in 1st start with lasix (1) CHOTAT MILK watch list horse for 1st over effort in fast last half, obviously likes the Big M and probably will offer value again (10) CABRINI HANOVER has been super consistent and in-the-money all year, was outkicked home and Sears will have his work cut out from post # 10 but just may not be the favorite for once (5) BELOVEDANGEL we were disappointed in her elim effort, but for her the front end isn’t the place to be, can upset from off the pace

Race Nine:  Breeders Crown 2YO C&G Pace (D)
(1) WESTERN ACE
no bigger fans of the little guy than us, pressured on the front in the elim, look for him to revert back probably to 1st over trip (5) PALONE RANGER got rank in the hole according to Sears but appeared to have pace after the skip, Metro Pace favorite may be set up for perfect trip (2) WESTERN CYCLONE finally got the better of Jeremes Jet parlaying perfect trip and sharp 26.4 close (7) JEREMES JET finally tasted defeat after brushing from post #1 on a tough night to be on the front end, no better than MacDonell for the final, odds only question

Race Ten:  Breeders Crown 3YO C&G Pace (D)
(2) ROCKNROLL HANOVER
hard to fault this impressive looking son of Western Ideal, big effort in his elim and our top pick because of post position advantage (9) AMERICAN IDEAL would be our top pick if not for post #9, the other Western Ideal colt put in a simply huge effort against the bias last week and look for MacDonald to float him out for early position
 (1) LEADING X AMPLE offered solid late place in good prep, may have to sit or risk going first over

Race Eleven:   Invitational
(1) CASIMIR CAMOTION
one of our favorite horses currently racing qualified sharply and may be sitting an ideal trip (3) RARE JEWEL that was some eye opening mile at Woodbine, likely down the road again at a decent price but will have to note any racing bias beforehand (7) BOULDER CREEK looks to go over $1 million in earnings with a win tonight, may be set up for perfect closing trip

Race Twelve:  $75,000-100,000 CLHC
(6) FATES PLACE
closed with a rush on the inside and makes his 2nd start off short rest
 (2) ONLY CHOICE the roan got off well from the rail and just got up late, likely to be bet down even more for Rucker/Manzi (3) WETERN PRINCE likely pacesetter lost a tough one and should be right there

Race Thirteen:  $50,000-60,000 CLHC
(4) YANKEE FINALE
looks to be a decided class drop and should be set up with anticipated contested early pace (7) LUCKY JO returns for higher tag and last qualifier was decent speed effort against some tough stock (10) THE INTIMIDATOR looked sharp in his qualifier at Gaitway after 2 months off but will be overbet from this spot (5) DEFINITE MAYBE the roan double jumps in claiming price after big effort at Balmoral
