Race One: Non-winners of $10,250 (4) ALL MY LIFE still looking for victory circle this year but is in prime spot dropping off effort showing sharp speed on both ends. (8) TENNANT IN CHIEF drops slightly from nw3 after uncovered effort pacing swift 27.2 third quarter, threat with early speed. (1) DREAM BELIEVER moves into the JMac barn and can wake up with class drop and anticipated more aggressive approach with Sears. (6) DRAGONDOTCOM another looking to get off the schneid, showed good even pace in fast mile.
Race Two: $100,000 Claiming 4&5-year-olds (7) PREMIERONBROADWAY is sharp again evidenced by uncovered victory and can do it from on or off the pace. (4) SHU HANOVER Miller returns and will look for the trip. (10) OHUBETTERBELIEVEIT may be turning the corner as Brennan stays off improved effort with the addition of the screen, fires out. (2) NIGHTMAREONELM faded after challenging uncovered pacing 53.4 middle half, gets Sears and has options.
Race Three: $75,000-$100,000 Claiming Handicap (4) ROMMEL steps up off the Remmen claim after another game front end score and has controlling speed over a host of closers. (7) MIDNIGHT GAMBIT drops after 1st over effort but what still amounted to Open filler. (5) TWIN B GAMBIT 3rd start off the Rucker claim and gets Morrill back and some post relief, like Midnight Gambit, success dictated by pace and track bias. (2) MIRACLE MAN N Pelling puts him in for a tag after strong brush pacing fast 54.0 middle half.
Race Four: $40,000 Claiming (5) GINNYS FIVE SIX good closing 2nd in fast race after pacing 54.2 middle half. (1) OHOKA LAZER N a watch list horse after pacing 26.3 final panel in fast last quarter. (3) SILVER RUSH steps up for Johnson and is another watch list horse for game effort dueling in fast half in pressured mile. (2) BEST ALWAYS will get overlooked but has been sharp offering good closing kick in fast races.
Race Five: FOUR LEAF CLOVER FINAL (D) It's all about value in this Final … (6) ITS NOT LUCK we kind of forgot about him and the much improved Pat Lachance in these big series after his previous uncovered effort but we will not overlook him here, probably leaving in search of another trip. (4) JK ROYAL FLUSH improved with Gingras in the bike, paced 25.3 second quarter just to get in contention in race he didn’t have to give his all and still closed well. (1) ENTRY - MALTESE ARTIST - was able to catch Town Champion last week with sharp 26.4 last quarter and heady Pierce drive, another who will probably be gunning early, will probably be overbet. (2) ENTRY – TOWN CHAMPION lost to the pocket sitter in tough journey will look to go down the road, FOX VALLEY GALLANT broke after menacing move and is a major closing threat with any sort of front end pace.
Race Six: OPEN (D) (6) EATON ROAD KILL gave an improved effort with more aggressive handling from post #1, reverts back to closing tactics. (2) LIFE SOURCE is sharp again and should be perfectly set up and clearly the one to beat. (3) CANYON WIND Miller’s choice of 3 is sharp but may choose to stay in rather than go uncovered again from this spot. (5) CUNNING LIAR was able to stay close with sharp 26.3 final quarter.
Race Seven: Non-winners of $15,000 (4) YOU ROCK drops from the Four Leaf Clover series where he was shut off late but appears to be coming around. (8) SPIRIT OF A SHARK Silva gets him in cheap in 2nd race off the layoff, in obvious need of last and may need another as we feel he may offer a speed tightener, will be overbet. (10) ODDS ON DANA Odds On Racing brings in their top gun and one of our favorite young drivers, Tim Tetrick back to the BigM, 3rd start off long layoff for the well bred, lightly raced horse, has offered sharp closing kick against better in first two. (8) O NARUTAC PAT drops from the plethora of 100,000 CL on the grounds after not being involved, look for more aggressive handling in this spot.
Race Eight: Winners over $25,000 LT (D) (3) THREE QUARTER CAM fanned three wide in another quality effort and harnessed by astute Oakes claiming barn. (4) PRINCE VINCE got a nice cover trip off the swift fractions and may be in positioned for live cover. (5) BIG SHAM was in with stablemate Odds On Dana in last weeks Balmoral feature quarter mile sprint, found it hard to close in the sprint home with tough company, key early speed. (1) ALLSTAR BLUE JEAN faded after setting some fast numbers and coming off scratch sick but gets the rail and reunited with Richie Silverman.
Race Nine: Non-winners of Three Races, 5-year-olds & Under (2) TAYLORLANE ACE offered sharp late pace when free and should be well positioned with his early speed. (6) QUICKSILVER SHARK the grey offered some decent pace late albeit too late, may have too far to come unless Manzi can get him in gear earlier. (3) TRICKY GRIN on the improve closing well against 50 claimers. (9) BOOS BOY should be a major factor with his early speed but did weaken last week off slow middle half.
Race 10: $50,000-$60,000 Claiming Handicap (7) FRANCO CATAPULT N got his act together on the class drop and blowout mile in 2nd start for Burke, returns to claimers and room for improvement. (5) YULESTAR N Miller stays off the improved game uncovered effort. (1) ARTS ADVANTAGE is harnessed this time by the Ledford barn and is raised in class after pacing fast middle half in fast race. (2) RICKARDS ED was one of our big ‘on-top’ plays last week albeit aided by slow middle half, can race on or off the pace.
Race 11: Non-winners of Three, 4-year-olds & Under (9) LUCKY LIFE faded late after pressured mile, should fire out and major threat with this group. (5) THE SOUP NAZI is an automatic play for you Seinfeld aficionados, good late pace off the slow fractions but has been known to hang in the late stages. (8) UNDER BOSS the Hopeful Series winner exits the Matts Scooter where he wasn’t a factor, should be competitive with this questionable group. (4) WESTERN SALOON well thought of colt was the beaten favorite in first leg of Matt Scooter series in his first start back, Pierce ops off Daley horse which figures he is out for an easy race.
Race 12: $40,000 Claiming
(1) DITCHEMS BROTHER should be sitting in ideal position. (2) NORTHERN SUN no shot trying to close off that slow middle half, Cat should get more aggressive from this spot. (10) ATLANTIC SUNSET A victim of some tough trips, off poorly last week in fast pace, goes for new connections and Miller will look to leave. (8) BIG KYLE STYLE can't be as bad as he looked as the beaten favorite on the class drop, Lachance puts him right back in for 40k and expect some changes.
Race 13: Non-winners of $7500 (1) GENE CARTER drops after flashing recently unseen speed from post #10 and expect another aggressive effort. (5) MY BUDDY BOB Harder astutely drops him in condition after poor effort as the beaten favorite, dangerous with any improvement. (6) SIX OF DIAMONDS Eric Ledford drove him well now his dad Seldon trains, major improvement expected. (9) THEMISTOKLES takes needed drop after getting away poorly recently, chance if Brennan gets aggressive.
HAPPY EASTER FROM THE GREY STABLE !!!
