Analysis/Selections by: Grey Stable Tony

Race One: $30,000-$35,000 Claiming Handicap

(4) JORDANS PLANET
(a WOW angle horse – up in class without a win) tired after setting a quick clip on a bad night for speed.  (10) ROSANALI N drops after pacing fast 54.4 final half, will have to leave or be at mercy of field pretty much devoid of early speed except Jordans Planet. (6) DIEBERSPACE racing well with Smith and still will offer good odds, big 27.2 close but at the mercy of the pace and cover flow. (1) SLIGHTLY WILD N Sears’ choice hasn’t raced since September but seemed race ready in qualifier closing in snappy 27.1, risky morning line favorite.

Race Two: Non-winners of $10,000

(4) MIDNIGHT GAMBIT returns in a reduced spot and showed good speed effort in his qualifier. (8) JO PAS BENCH MARK big class drop since last seen here on 12/11, tired after big speed effort at Yonkers as the beaten favorite.  (6) THE INTIMIDATOR another sharp Banca horse closed in a brisk 26.3 in return to the BigM.   (2) GLOBAL SCALE ships back to the Silva barn after rather lackluster efforts recently in the Opens at Dover, should be on the move.

Race Three: $30,000-$35,000 Claiming Handicap

(4) ALIKEIT another speedball in the Callahan barn will be tough to catch if allowed on an open lead.  (1) TOO MUCH GUN gets tested for class in first start in the Bo Boudon barn after sharp sweep pacing last half in 55.1. (8) U CEE ALAY N showing positive signs since the break and class drop, can leave for position. (2) WALKINSHAW drops slightly after needed race, prior Chicago form was encouraging.

Race Four: Non-winners of $15,000

(5) MOXIE classmaster drops after suffering from bad cover on the ship-in from Dover (1) OHUBETTERBELIEVEIT remains sharp and can make a good living in this condition by means of the also eligible route, expect quick brush to the lead (9) GALLO BLUE CHIP perhaps the ‘gallant gelding’ can no longer compete with Open company but can put these away from off the pace and a decent mutual (6) KEYSTONE RODEO has been doing good work at Freehold, the last a sharp uncovered win

Race Five: CLYDE HIRT – FINAL (D)

(4) FRANCAM did not look like the same horse but did not need to win from bad post in last, prior was amazing mile, should leave and sit the perfect trip behind Master This. (7) MASTER THIS the Callahan Maryland bred is a hot commodity these days and is hard to fault with that potent speed, down the road. (1) ENTRY - SHU HANOVER another impressive performer with two gutsy wins but feel he may have to go the uncovered route. (3) GREAT EXPENSE should be heard from in the stretch with his closing kick and anticipated pace.

Race Six : PRESIDENTIAL – 2nd Leg FFA (D)

(1) Harder Entry–both EATON ROAD KILL and LUCKYISASLUCKYDOES closed in 26.3, the latter should be ready to go in 3rd start of layoff and improved post.  (6) LIFE SOURCE another big mile holding well being pressured by Royal Mattjesty.  (11) ROYAL MATTJESTY went uncovered in 3rd start of layoff and could be set for a trip from the second tier.  (10) MAKE IT BRIEF rebounded well with good closing effort and will have to look to leave for early position.

Race Seven: Non-winners of $27,500

(6) JOHNNY BE COOL N got out too late in good effort from post #9, race sets up for his closing kick. (8) CANYON WIND parked past 54.4 half but will have to leave for any chance. (4) STREET SIGN like much better with much improved post from last weeks snowout, Morrill’s choice and qualifiers were very good. (2) PATCH ADAMS N Sears stays and gets one more look, has been disappointing and may have to rough it again from this post.

Race Eight: THE COMPLEX – FINAL (D)

(5) MY BUDDY BOB cleared traffic and closed stoutly on the rail, previous huge 25.3 close, could give Pat Berry his first big Meadowlands stakes victory.  (6) RARE JEWEL comes off of impressive win while well backed off the break in round one.  (1) GLORS BOYS big uncovered efforts in both rounds, will be on the move early from the rail.  (4) JK ROYAL FLUSH big effort from post #8, versatile sort may decide to leave.

Race Nine: $75,000-$125,000 Claiming Handicap

(7) GENE CARTER perhaps took it easy last week off huge effort the week before, still closed well in 27.2.  (3) ROMMEL always benefits from some extra time off and steps up after sharp blowout effort against decent group. (5) LAUGHING IS AN ART has scored on the ship in before and steps up in fine form since last here after easy win at Yonkers. (6) TWIN B GAMBIT closed well in both starts since the claim, just needs a little luck.

Race 10: $50,000-$60,000 Claiming Handicap

(1) NORTHERN SUN big break in posts from last weeks draw, returns after tuning up with sharp off the pace efforts against the best at Freehold, sure to see Cat blast out looking for the trip.  (7) CAM ST PARTNERS big uncovered effort 2nd time Daley three weeks ago.

(3) STANDING DATE steps up off a huge 26.4 close and gets Brennan.  (9) ARTS CAM loses Miller but another sharp mile and bumped up by Oakes, Dube should be firing him out.

Race 11:  $40,000 Claimers

(9) BIG KYLE STYLE Daley raises him in class and goes with his top man Pierce after claiming him after impressive first start over the track. (10) FOX VALLEY CHRIS ambitious jump in class by Rucker but flashed sharp speed on both ends of the mile. (2) IMAGE OF JATE remains sharp for his 4th different trainer since last month, got a good cover trip in first start for Hartline. (6) AFTER LIFE seem to take well to the BigM as he closed very well in 26.4 as the beaten favorite in first start over the track.

Race 12: Non-winners of $15,000

(5) DRAGONDOTCOM Dube’s choice drops and should be firing out and fitness advantage over Third Straight.  (2) THIRD STRAIGHT expect improved effort on the drop and third start off the qualifier.  (7) EXTENDER N closed for 2nd in 27.1 in The Globe’s blowout mile.

(6) LANDMARK HALL left from post nine in even effort and may be turning the corner.

Race 13: $30,000-$35,000 Claiming Handicap
(9) WRIST ROCKET reclassified by Scurlock after even effort in first start at the BigM.  (6) WESTON EARL A put in a big effort here on 12/11 in the 40k’s, the Cat Man stays aboard after some even efforts at Freehold. (4) FESTIVUS ships in from Maywood into the Banca barn off closing attempts in faster last halves and is the pick for the ‘restofus.’ (1) CAMSURGE another ‘WOW’ horse is on the improve with good late pace in recent efforts.

Race 14: Non-winners of $10,000

(10) DAISYS BOY was buried last time but we will keep him in this mix since the Gingras switch from Sears clicked last winter. (2) WINFORUS A was Morrill’s choice and offered willing pace in the qualifier, as with many of the Lewis newcomers, the odds board should tell the story. (9) NIGHT MYSTERY big speed effort against the closing bias on 1/8, can take this lackluster field on the engine. (4) YANKEE LANDA good effort upon his return, was looking forward to last Saturday’s spot by scratching last Tuesday, may need one more.
