Race One: $40,000 Claiming Pace (2) FOX VALLEY CHRIS makes his debut in the Daley barn, faded after setting a fast 54.4 half from post #10, may revert to off the pace tactics. (7) FESTIVUS a ‘WOW’ angle horse – up in class without a win - is a watch list horse for sharp 27.1 close, 3rd over in fast last quarter. (3) HEZABIGRASCAL steps up off the win 2nd start off the Fanning claim and may again be set up for a good closing trip. (4) IMAGE OF JATE beaten fave tired after aggressively brushing in 26.2, 1st start for the Veazey barn which hasn’t had much success but gets the services of Sears.
Race Two: Non-winners of $10,000 (10) DU WAH DIDDY drops from the Hirt Series and flashed sharp 27.0 close in fast last quarter in a tough race to gauge. (4) SUPERMATTURAL game speed effort as the beaten favorite on the dropdown and was Miller’s choice of three. (7) DAISY’S BOY tough trip from post #10 last, previous blocked in stretch, running out of excuses, one more try in the mix. (1) THEMISTOKLES Sears’ choice over the #9 and probable post-time favorite paced 54.4 middle half in fast pace but will likely have to find room in the stretch.
Race Three: $50,000-$60,000CLHC (8) LAUGHING IS AN ART reclassified by Oakes after even effort against better and surely headed down the road. (2) OHOKA SAINT N parked in the big mile by Arts Cam and didn’t fade too badly, should be out early for the pocket but may have another Oakes monster to contend with. (3) EXTENDER N back to the claiming ranks after offering a good stretch close 3rd start off the shelf. (6) STANDING DATE another outstanding close chasing Arts Cam.
Race Four: $30,000 to 35,000 Claiming Handicap (7) A TOUCH OF CASH gets the major trainer switch to Daley off the claim after uncovered journey. (8) IMTHATKINDACAM can waken up with the return to Sears and 2nd start with lasix. (10) ESCAPEWITOUTATRACE hampered with post #10 again but closed well in first start for Czermann, expect to fire out. (3) LAVROS HARRIER N bumped up by Robin Schadt after the claim and good 27.3 close, Dube can utilize his early speed.
Race Five: The PRESIDENTIAL FINAL FFA (D) (2) LIFE SOURCE got the golden trip first time Brennan and should be poised for similar trip from this post. (1) Harder Entry –EATON ROAD KILL closed well from far back keeping fine tuned for the final. (4) MAKE IT BRIEF raced gamely in good speed attempt and likely on the engine again.
Race Six: Non-winners of $15,000 (1) THE MIGHTY PO PO a watch list horse for sharp 26.4 close first time in the Silva barn. (2) MIDNIGHT GAMBIT steps up after pacing last ¾’s in 1:21.3 in fast race. (8) SIX OF DIAMONDS has raced gamely last two and can upset with closing trip. (5) ARMBRO BECLAM likely post-time favorite exits the tough Hirt Final and will be likely be on a speed mission …also…(4) GALLO BLUE CHIP maybe nearing the end of the line, gets improved post and will have to show something soon.
Race Seven: Non-winneres of $27,500 (D) (5) JOHNNY BE COOL N brushed and crushed similar and should be in for similar trip. (7) CANYON WIND another tough journey but closed well against the ez winner. (3) CAMS PRIMETIME Campbell stays off two improved efforts and is one tough customer on the engine. (8) LIFES A BEACH N makes a return to the BigM after a 2 year absence, drops from the Woodbine Open an chilly qualifier in the 6 degree temperature.
Race Eight: $75,000-$125,000 Claiming Handicap (D) In a highly competitive race…(9) LEGAL TROUBLE N in what likely should be a fast pace with a lot of early speed, this guy can flat out fly in the stretch and will be coming late and at good odds. (5) LCB returns to the high priced claimers after good effort from post #10 against the tough Johnny Be Cool N. (1) TWIN B GAMBIT sharp 26.4 close and should get aggressive from this post. (4) ROMMEL lasted after 2 move effort against most of this group last week … also….(2) ARTS CAM steps up off lifetime best blowout mile, but will like to see it again this time saddled with the D-barn for the first time in a long while.
Race Nine: $40,000 Claiming Pace (10) TOO MUCH GUN Boudon steps him up off sharp score with 27.2 close and can leave. (3) WRIST ROCKET was a hot claiming commodity last week, steps back up off Croghan claim off the sharp front-end dropdown score. (1) BIG STYLE KYLE Morgan re-claims after tough first over journey. (8) LITTLE AMOS depending on the bias, this guy put in a fine closing effort off slow half at Freehold.
Race 10: Non-winnres of $15,000 (7) LANDMARK HALL a watch list horse for being parked in fast middle half and gets Morrill. (1) DOMINATOR PLUS has raced very well his last two with lasix, should be out and firing from the rail. (6) VINTAGE CAM drops from the Hirt Consolation where he paced a quick 27.1 last quarter. (9) DREAM BELIEVER Complex Series proved a little too tough but should be coming late against these.
Race 11: Non-winners of $10,000 (1) WITHALLPROBABILITY second start off the Elliot claim had no chance from post #10 in tough trip, drops and post relief. (2) CIRCLE L KID was Millers’ choice and should be ready to roll third start off the layoff and big class drop from the Complex Series, but will be overbet. (4) MARINOS BOY gets major post improvement after getting off poorly but pacing final three-quarters in 1:21.3, upset chance at huge odds. (6) GLOBAL SCALE closed well in 27.2 on the ship in from Dover.
Race 12: $30,000-$35,000 Claiming Handicap (6) IT’S THE PAPER BOY debuts for Fusco and gets the call simply on form against this bunch. (2) RED STAR TEX debuts in the Daley barn at a reduced level off the ship from Woodbine, tough if ready but has been off for 3 weeks. (3) NIGHT MOVES good speed effort from post #9 on the dropdown and should improve with expected off the pace effort. (9) BATTLESHOE BOY seems to race better on the big track as evidenced by his fast speed badge last year at Hawthorne.
Race 13: Non-winners of $15,000 (1) GENE CARTER didn’t fire last week but we will stick with him as we expect another aggressive attempt with the drop and the rail. (4) COASTOCOAST YANKEE can wake up with the barn switch to Silva and the services of Sears. (7) BACK OFF another good close last week in 26.4 off 3 weeks rest, going to have to show some of his early speed one of these days. (8) DOMINATION Morrill’s choice of three, tripped out but sharp score off the claim by Elliott, can leave.
