Analysis & Selections by Grey Stable Tony

Back To Player's Guide

Race One: 40,000 CL (D)
(3) NATIONAL ARTCHIVE
draws first decent post since Remmen claim and look for Morrill to be aggressive from this spot. (2) ARTS ADVANTAGE gets post relief after not being involved from post #10 and off scratch sick, may have to go 1st over though.  (4) SILVER RUSH good speed effort in first start for Coyne, likely blasting out again.  (5) CHEYENNE AMERICA was off poorly and found it hard to make up group in fast mile, may get good cover trip from this post.

Race Two: 100,000 CL (4YO)
(7) PRINCE VINCE
paced 54.3 last half but couldn’t make up any ground in the Open, previous game effort tiring after brushing and pacing fast middle half, threat if Cat can get him involved sooner.  (2) WESTERN HOT SHOT raised in class after a dominant effort first time in the Oakes barn, gets services of Mike Lachance this week.  (4) CASEY’S BONANZA Sears’ choice was used hard in the Fox Sports series and is the major early speed threat.  (6) ARMBRO BRANDO Miller stays and has found it tough going facing three sub-1:50 miles in a row, should get decent cover trip.

Race Three: OPEN (D)
(1) CANYON WIND
current king of the hill paced vicious 1st over win and doubly tough from the inside posts.  (2) BOULDER CREEK gave good account of himself in record setting pace in Classic leg at Dover and will likely be content to relinquish early lead to Canyon Wind. (3) LIVE OUT LOUD was our play in the Open last week and responded with improved effort but no match for the winner.

Race Four: 50,000-60,000 CLHC
(1) FRANCO CATAPULT N
game effort parked in fast mile in first start for Oakes who quickly raises him back to original claiming price. (2) FESTIVUS has been clearly overmatched and takes needed drop and could work out decent trip.  (9) GLOBAL SCALE retains Sears after Remmen claim, raced well going 3 wide closing for 2nd after a month off , should be firing out looking for early position.  (3) LIBERAL ARTS came home in brisk 54.3 from tough spot and may be on the move early.

Race Five: 75,000-100,000 CLHC
(1) ROMMEL
battled gamely and be content for pocket trip.  (3) SIX OF DIAMONDS fought hard parked against Rommel and understandably tired, may have easier time tonight making the top.  (6) LANDMARK HALL has not looked as sharp last few but is reclaimed by Silva and should be set for lively cover trip.

Race Six: nw 15,000
(1) DRAGONDOTCOM
is still 0 for 12 this year but has been knocking on the door, can take this with anticipated trip from the rail.  (2) THEMISTOKLES was Brennan’s choice and has his confidence back after convincing wins against lesser. (4) ART ATTACK couldn’t make up ground in fast pace against a good group of nw 10,000. (9) O NARUTAC MAGIC improved effort closing in 27.0 off cover trip but does possess some early speed.

Race Seven: 50,000-55,00 CLHC
(1) ALERT MOTORING N
drops after not capitalizing on pocket trip but gets the switch to Sears who should have him perfectly placed again.  (7) NORTHERN SUN is raised in class off the Ford claim after game win getting parked past the half in fast fractions, should be out firing again.  (2) OHOKA LAZER N is raised in class in first start for Remmen after big pressured mile in fast time. (10) THE INTIMIDATOR responded to the drop to this class where he has been racing well and look for Brennan to fire him out again looking for position.

Race Eight: nw 20,000
(2) TOWN CHAMPION
qualified sharply after game effort losing to now world champion Maltese Artist in Four Leaf Clover final, should be brushing early. (7) THREE QUARTER CAM gets another free ride by the also eligible route in another big mile parked past the half to clear the lead. (6) GLORS BOYS finished well off dull cover in a fast race and may choose to revert to his early speed. (10) MASTER THIS Callahan speedball returns and was Sears’s choice, lots of inside speed but Sears should still have him out for early position.

Race Nine: 40,000 CL (D)
(8) BERELEY
the grey put in a rare dull effort and takes subsequent drop switch back to Manzi. (3) ARTS REGARDS is sharp and responded with cover trip win on the class hike move to claimers.  (2) CAMS PRIMETIME Gingras couldn’t keep him under control but gets the services of regular pilot Campbell, tough if he minds his manners, but like always a risky bet.  (1) BEST ALWAYS 1st start for Burke and gets Sears after being used hard on brush attempt, may be able to work a trip from the rail.

Race 10: 75,000-100,000 CLHC
(5) TIBERON
offered steady closing pace from post #9 in fast mile against tough group of nw 20,000, returns to claimers and Brennan may chose to use his early speed. (8) MIDNIGHT GAMBIT another who closed well last week against a speed bias and is the key to the race if Sears can get him into the race earlier. (1) MT VERNON HANOVER offered sharp 27.2. close on tough night to make up ground, not really rewarded with post #1. (9) PREMIERONBROADWAY goes back to the Lachance barn after tiring going the uncovered route, Pat should have him floating out for early position.

Race 11: 40,000 CL (D)
(4) SAND HILL N
first start for Rucker and positive driver switch to Miller after eventful trip from post #10 but may be overbet because of it.  (1) AFTER LIFE goes 1st time for the Vince Fusco barn as the beaten favorite finding it hard to make up ground in fast mile. (5) CAMBERT is moved up in class after showing sharp pace on both ends of the mile an major threat if Morrill leaves with him again. (10) IMTHATKINDACAM returns to the capable hands of Sears after uncharacteristic break getting trapped inside, sure to see his early speed.

Race 12: nw 15,000
(3) ALLSTAR BLUE JEAN
tired after brush attempt from post #1, takes a major drop and class and is obviously the one to beat but probably will offer little betting value.  (9) JENNAS GOSSIP the ‘king or trips’ is sharp but has also benefited by great trips, will have his hands full this week as All Star Blue Jean should be on a speed mission.  (2) GREAT WESTERN N closed well in 26.4 two weeks ago in first start for Saunders and may by a NZ import with t bright future.  (6) ROB ROY MATTGREGOR lost ground trying to close in Three Quarter Cam’s fast mile, drops and should be closing late.

Race 13: nw 10,000
(5) MY BUDDY BOB
left, tucked and got jammed in improved mile in fast time major threat if Morrill and fire him out again.  (2) GRAND PLACE put in a big qualifying effort in fast pace and has raced well fresh before but think he will be short. (9) MARINOS BOY drops after good 27.3 close with a good group of nw 15,000. (8) WINCHESTERS BEST tired after pacing fast middle half and likely firing out again.  (7) LIGHT AND SOUND N beaten favorite last two and not worthy of morning line favorite status, not burning any or our money!
