March 1, 1988 – Movin Along, driven by Bill O’Donnell, wins the Night Styles Pace final in 1:57.1 at The Meadowlands in New Jersey.
March 2, 1993 – Dave Palone wins seven straight races at The Meadows, near Pittsburgh.
March 3, 1989 – Cajun Brother wins the Peter Haughton Memorial Pace final at Yonkers Raceway in New York.
March 4, 1988 – Burnham, driven by John Campbell, wins the New Faces Series final at The Meadowlands.
March 5, 1993 – Shady Daisy, driven by Ron Pierce, wins the Overbid Pace final in 1:53.3 at The Meadowlands.
March 6, 2002 – HP Paque, driven by Trond Smedshammer, wins the Horse & Groom Trot final in 1:54.3 at The Meadowlands.
March 7, 1991 – Bright Spot, driven by Cat Manzi, wins the Exit 16W final in 1:55 at The Meadowlands in New Jersey.
March 8, 2003 – Stephane Bouchard wins 10 straight drives, getting wins in his final two races at Freehold, then winning eight straight races to open the card at Yonkers. He finishes the night with nine wins at Yonkers, marking the second time in his career he wins nine races on a single card. The eight straight wins at Yonkers are a record for the most consecutive victories on a single raceway program.
March 9, 1990 – Sweet Sharon, driven by Jack Moiseyev, wins the second of her two straight Overbid finals in 1:53.3, lowering her own stakes record by four-fifths of a second, at The Meadowlands.
March 10, 1996 – Market Report, driven by Stephen Condren, wins the Cam Fella Series final at Woodbine Racetrack in Ontario.
March 11, 1995 – Riyadh, driven by Luc Ouellette, wins a leg of the Levy Memorial Series in 1:52.4 at Yonkers Raceway in New York.
March 12, 1982 – Cam Fella, driven by Pat Crowe, wins the New Faces final in 1:58 at The Meadowlands.
March 13, 1996 – Passionate Kisses, driven by Howard Parker, wins the Jersey Girls final in 1:54.2 at The Meadowlands.
March 14, 1998 – Art’s Secret, driven by Lyle MacArthur, wins the Damsel Pace final in 1:54.3 at Woodbine Racetrack near Toronto.
March 15, 1987 – Tom Swift drives two horses that finish in dead heats for wins at Batavia Downs in New York.
March 16, 1991 – Covert Action, driven by Ray Schnittker, sets the world record for pacers five and older on a half-mile track by winning a leg of the George Morton Levy Series in 1:53.1 at Yonkers Raceway in New York.
March 17, 1977 – Scott Wil, driven by Ken McNutt, wins the inaugural Four Leaf Clover Pace in 1:59 at The Meadowlands in New Jersey.
March 18, 2000 – John Campbell becomes the first driver or jockey to win $100 million lifetime at a single racetrack, reaching the milestone at The Meadowlands.
March 19, 1997 – Cami Whitestocking, driven by George Brennan, wins the Jersey Girls Pace in 1:54.2 at The Meadowlands.
March 20, 1993 – Blatantly Bald, driven by Bill Gale, wins the Cam Fella Series final in 1:55.1 at Greenwood Raceway in Toronto.
March 21, 1992 – This Cams For You, driven by John Brooks, wins the Cam Fella Series final in 1:56.2 at Greenwood Raceway in Toronto.
March 22, 2003 – Jim Morand wins his 6,000th race, driving Mighty Dragon N to victory at Dover Downs in Delaware.
March 23, 1990 – Mark Johnathan, driven by Mike Lachance, wins the New Faces final in 1:56.1 at The Meadowlands in New Jersey.
March 24, 1993 – Angelical Lady, driven by Catello Manzi, pays $337.40 to show, a record at The Meadowlands.
March 25, 1989 – Mike Lachance wins stakes races at three different tracks. He drives No No No to victory in a division of the North American Pacing Series at Freehold; Sweet Sharon to a win in the Overbid Pacing Series final at The Meadowlands; and Matt’s Scooter to victory in a leg of the George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series at Yonkers.
March 26, 1958 – General Thompse, Joyce Rosecroft, and McKinley Mahone finish in a triple dead heat for win at Santa Anita.
March 27, 1992 – Get Hooked, driven by Ron Waples, wins the Frederick Van Lennep Memorial Trot final in 1:57.2 at Pompano Park in Florida.
March 28, 1874 – Champion trotter Maud S is born. She becomes the first trotter to break the 2:10 mark.
March 28, 2003 – Tony Morgan wins nine races at Maywood Park near Chicago and finishes second in three others.
March 29, 1991 – Complex Trooper, driven by Jack Moiseyev, wins the New Faces Pace final in a stakes record 1:53 at The Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey.
March 30, 1977 – Niatross, Horse of the Year in 1979 and 1980, is born. He becomes the first Standardbred to break the 1:50 barrier.
March 31, 1996 – Warzover, driven by Ron Waples, wins the inaugural Sheraton Meadowlands Trot (now Father Foley Memorial) in 1:56.1 at The Meadowlands.
