Me And My Baby
won the first of two $20,000 Sweetheart elims in 1:53.1 with driver Cat Manzi at the controls for trainer Bruce Nickells in 1:53.1. She's already earned $134,456 prior to tonight's victory and the winning time was a career best. Speed Date (Andy Miller) was second, with Jayne's Character (Brian Sears) third, Mock Time (George Brennan)fourth and Anza Hanover (Roger Hammer) fifth. Fractional times: 27.4, 56.1, and 1:25.3.

Isabella Blue Chip captured the second Sweetheart Elimination in 1:53.2 with David Miller at the lines, scoring a half a lenght victory over Cantor's Daughter (John Campbell). BJ's Sunrise was third for Andy Miller, while Catch The Show (Brian Sears) nailed fourth and Mind Boggling (Ron Pierce) grabbed fifth. The $375,000 Sweetheart Final is set for August 4.

Michelle's Angel captured the first of three $20,000 Merrie Annabelle Eliminations for sophomore trotting fillies at The Meadowlands Thursday night. Driven by Ron Pierce, Michelle's Angel was timed in 1:57.4 for her nose victory. Second, after making an uncharacteristic break at the start and recovering nicely was Possess The Magic with Mike Lachance up. Ironmaid Volo was third for J Oscarsson. Fractional times: 29.2, 59.1, 1:29.1.

In the second Merrie Annabelle Elimination Gerri's Joy and driver David Miller scored a nose victory over Clever Catch and driver Mike Lachance in 1:58.2. Third was Fuego (Mark Gingrich) with fourth-place finisher Celebrity Sweedie (Jimmy Tatker) nabbing the final starting berth for the $400,000 final, set for August 3.

Chez Lucie (David Miller) won the third Merrie Annabelle Elim in 1:58 by half a length over Cash Cow (George Brennan) with Flight Surgeon (Mario Zuanetti) in third, two lengths behind the winner.
