Four Super Bowl Divisions at the Big M

January 18, 2007

Fortysecondstreet narrowly got up to win the second of four $12,500 divisions of the Super Bowl and ignite a win payoff of $120.40 Wednesday night at the Meadowlands. Fortysecondstreet finished a nose ahead of Jack Halloran Road trotting the mile in a lifetime best of 1:56.4. The son of Lindy Lane was trained by Neal Ehrhart and driven by Stephen Smith. Peaceful Victory was third by a length and a half.

Fortysecondstreet, owned by Bart H. Cavanagh Sr. of Media, Pennsylvania, last visited the winner's circle on July 10, 2005, capturing a division of the Reynolds Stakes at Pocono Downs. His Super Bowl victory was only the ninth career start and second win for the four-year-old.

Two divisions of the Super Bowl Trot - the fifth race and ninth race -- were won by sons of SJ's Caviar. George Brennan guided Caviar On The Menu to his third straight victory in the fifth race. The Thomas Lail trainee trotted a lifetime best of 1:56.1.

Euro Hanover, with Cat Manzi driving for trainer Bruce Saunders, picked up his third win in his five starts in the ninth race. He stopped the clock in 1:55.3.

In the tenth race, the final and fastest division, Anotherbogey B prevailed in 1:55.1 to go two-for-two in Super Bowl action.

The Top 10 money-earners in the first two legs of the series return for the $70,000 Super Bowl Final on January 24 at the Meadowlands.
