Street Dancer Takes Cape & Cutter, 2nd Leg

Street Dancer wired the field in the $35,000 second leg of the Cape & Cutter Series at the Meadowlands. Driven by Ron Pierce, Street Dancer held off the late charge of Nanny Withafanny to win by a half-length in 1:52.4. Riley Rose was third.
Trained by Nelson Willis, Street Dancer posted her first win in three starts this season and improved her career earnings to $391,035. She was named Illinois' Three-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year in 2006. The daughter of Richess Hanover won 17 of 25 starts and was on the board 23 times as a sophomore. She is owned by the partnership of former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, Terry Rathgeber, Ted Lock and James Reynolds. The $81,200 Cape & Cutter Final is next Friday, February 23.
JK CU Later extended his winning streak to seven in the $20,000 second leg of the Junior Trendsetter Series. The four-year-old son of Artiscape captured the fifth race in 1:51, also in rein to Pierce. The Mickey Burke trainee is owned by 3 Brothers Stables of New York, New York. Lather Machine, driven by Tim Tetrick and trained by Robert Clark, was the other Junior Trendsetter winner on the card. The $90,400 Junior Trendsetter Final is Saturday, February 24.
