In First Little Brown Jug Future Wagering Pool

The bettors have responded! Somebeachsomewhere is a solid 3-1 favorite in the first of three future wagering pools for the 2008 Little Brown Jug.

Despite trainer and co-owner Brent Mcgrath’s statement that Somebeachsomewhere will not start in the Little Brown Jug because of the possibility of having to race heats, the bettors have shown that they still want him to race in Delaware.

Badlands Nitro, runner-up to Somebeachsomewhere in the $1.5-million North America Cup and winner of the Art Rooney Pace, is next at odds of 7-1. Beeeyouuuuuuu, owned by Dale Walters of Delaware, OH and trained by his son Bill, and Share The Delight, who finished third in the Meadowlands Pace, are 8-1. Santanna Blue Chip is fifth at odds of 10-1.

The Field, which includes all other 3-year-old pacers, closed at 10-1. The field bet also includes any fillies that may enter the Jug.

The first future pool closed Sunday after four days of betting action at racetracks and internet sites across the United States. The second future wagering pool is from 12 p.m. August 21 through 11:30 p.m. August 24. This is the weekend after the Battle of Brandywine Final at Harrah’s Chester and the week before the Cane Pace Final at Freehold Raceway.
