Sears Sets Record

May 1, 2006

Brian Sears captured  the $20,000 second round of the Father Foley Series Sunday at the Meadowlands with the trotter Dink Adoo. The mile of 1:53 was a lifetime best for the seven-year-old gelding. It also set a single-month victory record for driver Brian Sears.

Dink Adoo has provided Sears with his Meadowlands-record-setting 65th win of the month. He eclipsed the 64 wins for a single month posted by John Campbell in April of 1986. It was the 52nd time this year that Sears has won two or more races on a program and the 36th straight card on which he has had at least one trip to the Meadowlands’ winner’s circle.

Dink Adoo, owned by the Panhellenic Stable Corp., and trained by Ken Rucker, picked up his fifth of the year. He has not been off the board in nine starts in 2006. Lifetime, the gelded son of Inquirer has 40 wins, 29 seconds and 17 thirds from 127 starts and earnings of $559,496.
