Miss Galvinator A, Burning Point Take Roses Are Red Elims

June 24, 2006

Miss Galvinator A went off at odds of 80-1 ($164.10 to win on a $2 ticket!) in the first Roses Are Red elimination at Mohawk Racetrack. Luc Ouellette gave Miss Galvinator A a pocket trip behind Digga Digga (Randy Waples), who paced through an opening quarter of :27.3 before being pressured by Cabrini Hanover (John Campbell) to a half in :55.2 and three-quarters in 1:22.4. As Cabrini Hanover faded and the backfield began to assault the leader, Ouellette closed strongly to win in 1:51 ahead of Born Storyteller (George Brennan) and Marnie Hall (Dan Dube), third.

Burning Point and Ron Pierce captured the second $50,000 Roses Are Red elim at Mohawk Racetrack. Pirece guided the Camluck-Tour De France mare to a 1:50.4 victory, besting a hard-closing Invitro (Paul MacDonell) and Restive Hanover (Luc Ouellette). Four Starzzzz Ittt and Gifted Seelster also qualified for the final. Steve Elliott trains Burning Point, who celebrated her 40th lifetime win for Cuzzins Stable of Delray Beach, Florida. The mare is quickly approaching $2.4-million in lifetime earnings.
