Rocknroll Hanover, American Ideal win at The Red Mile
Two sons of Western Ideal score in $235,550 divisions of the Tattersalls Pace
Rocknroll Hanover and American Ideal each captured a Tattersalls Pace for 3-year-olds today at The Red Mile, closing day of the Grand Circuit.

Rocknroll Hanover captured the first $235,550 division in 1:50 3/5 for driver Brian Sears and trainer Brett Pelling. Longshot Glittering Beaches was second and Load The Dice third.

Rocknroll Hanover is owned by Jeffrey Snyder, Lothlorien Equestrian Center and Perretti Racing Stable. He has won nine of 13 tries this season.

“He obviously likes the bigger track and he likes bearing down on horses,” Pelling said after the race. “I know he's a great horse. Most of my champions have raced in front, but I believe he can do it any way. He's just an incredibly strong horse.”

American Ideal captured the second $230,500 division of the Tattersalls in 1:49.2, with Cam's Fool and Beretta Hall second in a near wire-to-wire effort for driver Mark Macdonald. American Ideal is trained by Casie Coleman for owners Mac Nichol and Brittany Farms and now has ten wins in 19 seasonal starts.

“He was really good today,” MacDonald noted. “He was just as strong as last week and maybe a little straighter. He has really grown into a great racehorse. He's very versatile and has really matured.”
