Rainbow Blue Delivers First Foal
April 2, 2007
Champion pacer Rainbow Blue delivered her first foal Sunday evening, and trainer George Teague Jr. couldn't be happier.
"I'm excited - I've been waiting a long time," said Teague, who along with his sister, Brenda, owns Rainbow Blue with K And R Racing LLC. "She had a Western Hanover colt at about 10:30 last night and the doctor said she went through the foaling process really easy."
Rainbow Blue delivered her foal with the aid of Dr. John Egloff at the Vieux Carré Farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
"I haven't had a chance to go and check him out yet because he's about three hours from me," Teague said. "I'll probably get over there in about a week or so. I'll give him a chance to get up and running around so I can get a better look at him. "Dr. Egloff has him and he says that he looks gorgeous."
Teague also indicated that he plans on breeding the $1.6-million earner to Bettors Delight.
"We're looking to breed her to Bettors Delight next. The racing scene in New York is coming along very well, and I don't want to keep breeding her to the same stallion. Right now Bettors Delight is as good as any stallion out there, and better than most."
