Ron Pierce Starts 2005 Off in Fine Style at The Big M Odds On Racing's Driver of the Month Keeps On Truckin' in 2005 The momentum that carried Ron Pierce to his first Meadowlands driving title and national Driver of the Year honors in 2004, continued over the weekend with a six-winner night on Saturday night, January 8th at the Meadowlands. Pierce's six-bagger on Saturday night lifted his two-day total to seven and the lead in the current driver standings since the Meadowlands opened on Friday night.
Pierce won the first race with King Cole, the second race with Francam, the tenth with Cam St Partners, the 11th with Trumpet Display, the 13th with Always A Threat and the 14th with LCB.
Pierce, who has 5,180 career victories and earnings in excess of $92 million, had his best year ever in 2004 with 395 wins, 318 seconds and 281 thirds from 2,213 starts and earnings of $12,327,863. He was also elected to harness racing's Hall of Fame in 2004.
