July 10, 2007

Odds On Racing's owner Dana Parham has made a record $250,000 contribution to the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Charities Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. According to the Thoroughbred Times, the contribution is the largest single donation ever made to the fun which helps disabled jockeys with health care and daily living expenses.

Parham, is a Thoroughbred racing fan as well as a Standardbred fan, and noted he made the donation after speaking with John Brooks, the President of Racing And Gaming Services.

“John Brooks, president of RGS, talked to me after RGS made a $25,000 contribution,” Parham said. “I have all the respect in the world for the riders who risk their lives every race and wanted to do something significant that will help. Both RGS and I feel very strongly about the fund and hope that our contributions will encourage others to do the same.”
