Psilvuheartbreaker is the perfect example of the Standardbred’s toughness and intestinal fortitude. For the past four seasons this durable pacing machine has started 165 times, earning $1,230,160 for owner Frank Bellino of Bronxville, New York.

Conditioned by Bruce Saunders, who also harnessed Pacer of the Year Rock N Roll Heaven to a multi-million dollar winning season, Psiluvheartbreaker has amassed $1,417,249 in his career, which saw him score a career best mark of 1:49.3 en route to winning the Beckwith Memorial on Sept.1, 2008 at Plainridge.

"He’s a very special racehorse—we’ve had him four years now," Saunders said. "When we first saw him, he was in a 4-year-old, $50,000 claimer, going for $62,500. We liked him and were able to get him for $61,000."

Bred by Peggy and Steve Carter of Londonderry, Ohio, the altered son of Nobleland Sam began his career by racing over the Ohio ovals at ages 2 and 3, before venturing out to the East Coast raceways at ages 4 and 5.

"This horse loves his work and he’s very low maintenance. He’s every owner’s delight," Saunders quipped. "Everyone should be lucky enough to have a horse like him."

With a penchant for the half-mile ovals, this striking side-wheeler won numerous high conditioned events in 2007 at Yonkers Raceway in New York, in addition to a Meadowlands Open in 1:49.3, and a tough Invitational at Freehold.

In 2008 the solid bay gelding continued his winning ways at Yonkers and Freehold, capturing numerous opens and Invitationals at those tracks, adding another $380,900 to his coffers. The following year, at age six, he earned another $280,310, recording a winning time of 1:52.2h at Yonkers on July 11, 2009.

"Cat (Manzi) drove him most of 2010 and did an excellent job with him and Jimmy (Mettinis) drove him the year before and also did a great job," Saunders said.

In 2010, Psilvuheartbreaker started 45 times, posting a 9-6-8 record and earning $265,890 for Bellino. The then 7-year-old gelding stormed to a 1:51.4h clocking at Yonkers on Oct. 23, en route to winning a $38,000 Open Handicap, besting some of the Empire State’s hardiest conditioned pacers.

"He’s perfect mannered and very laid back, and is happy to eat his lunch and ship to Yonkers to race every Saturday," Saunders laughed. "He’s really ubelievable and just a joy to have in the barn."

Psilvuheartbreaker is the third and most prolific of ten foals out of the Towner’s Big Guy mare CC Big Girl Bretta p,3,1:58.1h ($21,511) and is a full brother to: CC Make A Buck p,3,1:53f ($149,734) and to CC Shakeurmunymaker p,4,1:54.2 ($57,162). He also has half-siblings in: CC’s Belief (by Firm Belief) p,3,1:53.2S ($115,983); Manbretta (by Mantacular) p,3,1:58.2h ($14,459); and Counter Attack (by On The Attack) p,4, 2:02.2h ($4,023), etc.
