SCHNITTKER DUO WIN VALLEY VICTORY ELIMS:
Trainer-driver Ray Schnittker sent out a power-packed team in eliminations for the Valley Victory Stakes for 2-year-old trotting colts at Woodbine Racetrack on October 20. Both Deweycheatumnhowe and Make It Happen came home winners; the former by nearly two lengths in 1:56.4, the latter in a late rush at the wire in 1:58.2. The two will start from post three and two in the C$666,050 final on October 27 at Woodbine.

HELLO DALI: Woodrow Wilson winner Dali won the fastest of two elimination races for Saturday’s Governor’s Cup for 2-year-old male pacers at Woodbine Racetrack. Dali beat Robert’s Rage by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:51.1 for his fifth victory in nine starts. Santanna Blue Chip, who was third in the Metro Pace, won the other elim in 1:51.4, defeating Lonestar Legend by a neck. Also advancing to the final were It’s That Time, Todd J H Hanover, Keystone Nautilus, Keystone Horatio, Lennon Blue Chip and On The Brink.

LADIES EYE DIAMONDS: She’s A Great Lady winner A And G’sconfusion and longshot Arts Diva won the elimination races for Saturday’s Three Diamonds for 2-year-old filly pacers. A And G’sconfusion won her division by a length over Up Front Bethann in 1:53.3. Also advance by virtue of a top-five finisher were Stylish Artist, See And Be Seen, and Windsong Eva. Art Diva triumphed in 1:53.1 by four lengths over favorite Gold Not Silver. Also reaching the final were Sprig Hanover, Thong and Elm Grove Camlady.

THEN THERE’S MAUD: Trainer George Teague Jr. will send a strong one-two punch into Saturday’s Lady Maud at Yonkers Raceway thanks to recently crowned New Jersey Sire Stakes champion Artcotic and Isabella Blue Chip, who was last season’s 2-year-old filly pacer of the year. Artcotic has won three of her last four races, and seven of 15 overall this season. Isabella Blue Chip was second in her most recent outing, a division of the Glen Garnsey Memorial, losing by a head to Hana Hanover in 1:49.3. She has one victory and three second-place finishes in eight starts. Mind Boggling, who was right with Hana Hanover and Isabella Blue Chip in the Garnsey, also is entered in the Lady Maud. Rounding out the field is Miss New Jersey winner Current Hanover, Lismore and James Lynch Memorial runner-up Elusive Prey, Captiva Hanover, Marietta Hall, and Trinity Islands.
