Meadowlands Pace champion One More Laugh tuned up for the 65th Little Brown Jug with a track record 1:50.3 performance in the $300,000 Cane Pace Final on Monday afternoon, September 6, 2010 at Freehold Raceway.

Driver Tim Tetrick shot One More Laugh into the early lead from the rail and never looked back, beating Rockin Image and Urgent Action.

Trainer Ray Schnittker confirmed following the Cane that One More Laugh is heading to the Little Brown Jug. The Cane Pace is the first leg of Pacing’s Triple Crown followed by the Little Brown Jug on September 23rd and the Messenger on November 6th at Yonkers Raceway.

On July 18, 2010 One More Laugh clocked a :27.4 final quarter to overtake favorite Rock N Roll Heaven in the 34th edition of the $1 million Meadowlands Pace.

Tim Tetrick guided the 3-1 shot after driver John Campbell let Rock N Roll Heaven set torrid fractions through the first three quarters of the race. But One More Laugh, a son of McArdle, rallied down the stretch to poke his head in front at the wire in a photo finish before a crowd of 14,135.

“He was very good last year,” Schnittker said of One More Laugh. “Hopefully he’ll be around for another five years.”

The time of 1:47.4 for the mile was a world record for 3-year-old pacing geldings but short of the stakes record of 1:47 set by Art Official in 2008. One More Laugh’s fastest previous win was in 1:53.3.

“I got lucky and got a good spot,” Tetrick said. One More Laugh “doesn’t get tired and keeps going and doesn’t give up. It took me the whole lane to get by those colts.”
