Jereme's Jet Wins C$697,685 Governor's Cup

Saturday, October 22, 2005

Jereme's Jet caputred the C$697,685 Governor’s Cup for two-year-old male pacers at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto Saturday night in 1:53.3. Paul MacDonell was at the lines behind the Tom Harmer trainee and owner The Genesis Stable of Plainfield, Illinois.

Jereme's Jet got the lead just past the half and never looked back, winning by two lengths over rival Artstanding.

Jereme’s Jet won his Cup elimination race by 1¾ lengths over Western Cyclone in 1:54.4. It was the Jet’s first start since winning the C$1 million Metro Pace at Mohawk on September 17 at Mohawk Racetrack. He has won all five of his lifetime races, including a 1:50.4 triumph in the Metro – the third fastest time of the season for two-year-old pacers, and earned $448,910.

"He is just absolutely perfect. I didn’t know they make them like that," trainer Tom Harmer said. "He wears no equipment whatsoever. Usually the good ones are mean or have something unpleasant with them. This horse, he’ll stand perfect in his stall and come out and want to be petted. He’s just an all-around perfect horse."
