Vysoke Tatry took the first of two $16,000 opening-round divisions of the Night Styles Series on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands. It was the four-year-old Dragon’s Lair mare’s third win in four starts this year and tenth in 14 career starts. She was making her first start winning the White Ruffles Final on January 26. Driven by Andy Miller and trained by Erv Miller, Vysoke Tatry won by one-length over Lye Creek Betty with Yancee third.

Vysoke Tatry swept the Snow Angel Series in December and breezed to victory in the White Ruffles Series in January. She is bidding for her third straight Meadowlands series for pacing mares. The Andray Farm of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania bred and owns Vysoke Tatry, who was named for a mountain range in Slovakia. She has lifetime earnings of $91,980.

In the second division longshot Cool Character caught Thedevilmademedoit in 1:52.3.
I’m All In was third by a length and three-quarters. Cool Character, driven by George Brennan and trained by Rick Bilach, was claimed out of a $20,000 claiming handicap on January 18 by Richard Annunziata of Mahopac, New York. The daughter of Shady Character was making her second start for her new connections. The Night Styles continues next week with a $57,000 final on March 8.
