Nadia Lobell Passes

December 27, 2006

Perretti Farms of Cream Ridge, New Jersey announced the passing of World Champion millionaire Nadia Lobell. Now a broodmare, Nadia Lobell was humanely euthanized December 23rd after a lengthy battle with laminitis.

The 22 year-old No Nukes--Norah Lobell mare had won the 1986 $915,000 Sweetheart Stake, and racked up career stats of winning 21 of her 38 starts-- finishing in the top three in 34 of those starts.

As a broodmare, Nadia Lobell produced the 1:50 performers Odds On Dana ($103,220) and Whodunit ($276,330). In addition, she is survived at the farm by her Big Towner daughter Naraculous, dam of Articulator (1:49.2, $485,200), Dr Hannibal (1:51.1, $267,600), Civil Warrior (1:51.2 $142,600) and Mary Mattgalane (1:53.2 $97,900) who also carries the producing values of her dam and grand dam. Nadia Lobell was not in foal at the time of her passing but has a soon-to-be yearling filly by Red River Hanover which will be consigned to the fall sales.
