Glowing Report Wins Milton Stakes
September 30, 2006
Glowing Report and driver David Miller paced to a 1:51.2 victory over a talented field of distaffers in Saturday's $393,750 Milton Stakes final at Mohawk Racetrack. Marnie Hall (Dan Dube) grabbed the runner-up spot while Illusionist (Jack Moiseyev) was third prize.
"She gets over any track, but she especially likes Mohawk," said Miller. "I have a lot of confidence in her every time she races. The race set up the way I hoped it would. I wanted to let a few of them get out in front of her in the early going – it worked out perfectly."
The victory was the fifth of the season and the 18th lifetime for Glowing Report, who now boasts a career bankroll of $2,034,260 for owner Marvin Rounick of Narberth, PA.
"This mare, when she's on her game, is just about as good as they can be in this division," said assistant trainer Richie Silverman. "It's always great to win here in Canada. Everybody treats us great. She goes to Lexington for the Allerage Farms next and then back here for the Classic Series."
