Miller, Snyder & Broodmares Named as Honorees

Erv Miller has been named the Glen Garnsey Memorial Trainer of the Year in voting by the directors of the U.S. Harness Writers Association. The award honors the memory of the Hall of Fame horseman who passed away in his prime in 1985. Miller, 39, had more than 300 training victories in 2005, and earnings for the barn of more than $5 million.

Jeffrey Snyder has been named Owner of the Year in voting by the directors of the U.S. Harness Writers Association. Snyder won the initial USHWA Owner of the Year award in 1994, when he campaigned Horse of the Year Cam's Card Shark. Snyder campaigned $2+ million winner Rocknroll Hanover, as well as Village Jolt and Cam’s Fool.

Miss Garland, dam of 2005 Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo, & Ohyouprettything, dam of freshman pacer Jereme’s Jet, have been selected as the Trotting & Pacing Broodmare of the Year by USHWA.

The honorees will be honored at the Night of Stars banquet on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, during the Harness Racing Congress being held that week.
