Free Wins $100,000 Maywood Filly Pace
Free
Free (No. 5) won a neck decision over her 3-year-old ICF rival Street Dancer with a 1:53.4 victory in the $100,000 Maywood Filly Pace Championship.

In a turn-around of events, Free stole the show tonight from Street Dancer in the $100,000 Maywood Park Filly Pace Final. The Stanley Miller-trained daughter of Armbro Mackintosh romped to a 1:53.4 victory for driver Sam Widger, picking up her 14th win of the season in 23 tries.

Free was forced to come first over just past the :56.3 half after sitting fifth on the rail through a first quarter clocking of :27.4. At the three-quarter marker Free was on top by nearly two lengths when Street Dancer (Dale Hiteman) began to challenge on the outside of her and it once again became a two-horse race between these two standout sophomore fillies.

In the lane however, Free prevailed by a neck, pacing her final quarter in :28.3 for owner Robert LeRoy Enterprises, Inc. of Elgin, Illinois. The victory pushed her seasonal earnings to $226,135 and her career earnings to $246,502. Kissmekissmekissme (Ryan Anderson) picked up third money.
