Briefly Wins Hopeful Leg Briefly p, 2 , 1:57.4M ($16,045), a lightly-raced sophomore son of Make It Brief--Possessive Dragon--Dragon's Lair captured a $10,000 leg of the Hopeful Series Saturday night, Feb. 20 at Yonkers raceway in 2:00.3.

Driver Steve Smith was at the lines for trainer Karen Garland and the Upland Farm of Wilbraham, MA. Briefly raced just 12 times as a freshman, with a 3-3-2 record and $7,245 in earnings, taking his mark of 1:57.4m at Balmoral on Nov. 1, 2009.

This year to date Briefly has had four starts, with one win, one second, a fourth and a fifth, adding another $8, 800 to his career coffers.
