Paul MacDonell Notches Career Victory 4,000

Driver Paul MacDonell, a 43-year-old resident of Guelph, Ontario captured his 4,000th career victory Friday night at Woodbine Raceway. MacDonell, a Oshawa, Ontario native, has piloted the winners of more than C$74 million in purse earnings.

He is in the midst of his 21st consecutive million dollar season and his 23rd straight season with 100 or more wins. MacDonell has sat behind a number of star performers over the course of his career including the likes of Village Jiffy, Bays Fella, Billyjojimbob, Village Jasper, Village Connection, Rustler Hanover, Y Chance It, Jeremes Jet and Canada's Horse of the Year in 2005 - Admirals Express.

Along the way MacDonell has racked up multiple wins in some of racing's major events like the Breeders Crown, the Metro Pace, the Confederation Cup and the William Wellwood Memorial Trot.
