Meadowlands Pace Elims Saturday
July 5, 2007
This Saturday, July 7, the sport's top three-year-old pacers will battle in a pair of elimination races for the $1 million Meadowlands Pace. Sixteen colts and geldings are split between two elims, races five and six, on Saturday night. From these elims will emerge a field of 10 - top five finishers in each division -- for the $1 million Meadowlands Pace on July 14. Elimination winners earn the right to select their post positions in the $1 million final.
Tell All, the North America Cup winner, heads the field for the first elimination. Trained by Blair Burgess, the colt will start from post eight with Jody Jamieson at the lines. Among the competitors he will face are Southwind Lynx, the Art Rooney winner, New Jersey Sire Stakes champ Always A Virgin and Artzina, the 2006 divisional champion also drew into the first elim.
The second elim pits Artriverderci, winner of the Hoosier Cup in his last start, against Kenneth J, North America Cup runner-up Sutter Hanover and Yankee Skyscaper, who was second in the New Jersey Classic last month.
In addition to the track's signature $1 million event, Meadowlands Pace Night on July 14 also features a cooler bag giveaway, concert by the Burden Brothers [6 - 7 p.m.] and Dog Voices [7 - 10 p.m.] and a $100,000 guaranteed Pick 4.
