April 18, 2007

A new track record was set for four-year-old trotting horses Wednesday evening at Harrington Raceway. Honolulu Hunk and Tony Morgan finished in a dead-heat win with Bud Roses in 1:57.3 in the $14,500 (U.S.) Junior Open Trot. "Hunk," a son of Program Speed, made a power brush to the front after the quarter mile in :28.1 with Morgan. He made the lead approaching the half-mile in :57.4.

Along with setting the new track record with Honolulu Hank, Morgan won five other races on the card, giving him six wins out of the 15 races. Morgan won aboard Pips Affair (Race 2), Winbak Red (Race 4), Honolulu Hank (Race 6), Genome (Race 7), Halladay (Race 9), and Sears Tower (Race 10). Morgan has now guided 252 winners this year while having purse earnings in excess of $2.8 million in 2007.
