ICF Freshmen Trotters Vie in Balmoral Park Stakes

The $120,000 Lady Lincoln Land Trot was won by Arcola in 1:57.1. Tim Tetrick was at the lines for trainer Roger Welch at Balmoral Park on Thursday night. Owned by Morton & Michael Turndorf of California, it was the sixth win in 11 starts this year for the daugher of Valley Victor. His Mssse Ja finished second for John Roberts, four lengths back while Ron Marsh brought Silhouette Star up for third. Ten freshmen fillies went postward for the third race on the night's card.

The $114,000 Lincoln Land Trot for ICF colts and geldings was taken by Victrola and driver Andy Miller in 1:57.3. Tom Graham Sr trains the Valley Victor gelding for Carol Graham of Salem, Il. who bested rival Vanished (Ron Marsh) by a neck in the final strides. Dabra was third for Tim Tetrick. A full field of ten two-year-old colts and geldings went to the gate in Balmoral's fifth event on the Thursday night program.
