Fox Valley Odyssey wins Lincoln Land
October 1, 2007
Fox Valley Odyssey captured the $130,000 Lincoln Land Stake in 1:57.1 Sunday night for driver Jason Dillander, notching his third straight victory in the process.
The John Butenschoen-trained son of Vaporize took the lead at the 1:26.3 from the tiring Kan Jamaicamecrazy (Mike Cox) and strolled to a one and 3/4 length victory in a new lifetime best. Owned by Fox Valley Standardbreds and former Illinnois governor Jim Edgar, Fox Valley Odyssey picked up his biggest paycheck ($65,000) to date, and pushed his career bankroll to $81,914.
"This colt was strong tonight," Dillander noted. "He did everything I asked of him. He's still pretty green but really turns on the gas when you ask him to go.
Valley Speed (Brent Holland) nabbed place money, while Maxter (Dave Magee) grabbed third. The start was the ninth of Fox Valley Odyssey's career.
