Lenny Burgess Passes

Lindell "Lenny" L. Burgess, 64, passed away on June 26, 2005 at his farm. He was born January 13, 1941 in Vianna, IL the son of Clifford and Marbie Burgess. Lenny was an accomplished musician, entertaining all over the Fox Valley area for many years. He had played in Nashville behind many Country Western stars. He owned his own construction company as well as a horse breeding operation. Lenny worked on the brickwork on a wide variety of commercial and residential buildings from Kane to Cook County as well as many schools in the surrounding areas and the United Center. In addition, Lenny owned and trained many top racehorses, and was a member of the IHHA & the USTA.

He is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Catherine Burgess; his children, Justin Burgess, Steve Burgess and Kathy Perez; a granddaughter, Ashley Burgess; a sister, Marie (Dave) Carlen, Sr.; a brother, William (Judy) Burgess and several nieces and nephews. A visitation for Lenny will be held on Thursday from 4-9 pm. Services will be held Thursday at 7:30 p. at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Interment will be private.
