Forrest Skipper was one of the top open pacers of his day. After spectacular sophomore and four-year-old season that saw him earn over $1 million, he was retired to stand stud. He bred horses in New Jersey and Maryland from 1987 through 1993 before being exported to New Zealand. From 505 register foals in the United States during those years, he produced 381 winners, 198 who paced in 2:00 or faster and 42 who were clocked in 1:55 or better, for total foal earnings of $11,846,640.
