Laugh A Day earned her fame before she ever set hoof on the racetrack or in the breeding shed.  This beautiful filly gained recognition for being the most expensive yearling filly ever sold at public auction.  On October 3, 1983 long-time Standardbred owner Lloyd Arnold plunked down $625,000 to purchase the duaghter of Most Happy Fella, and sister to Tyler B p,3,1:55.1 ($687,388) and Tarport Hap p,1:56.3 ($688,664).  She is also a half-sister to Tyler's Brother p, 1:54.3 ($151,581),  Jamunga p, 3, 1:55 ($103,443), and Cheery Hello p,1:52.3 ($869,619).

Laugh A Day took a two-year-old record of 2:02f in a qualifier and earned a  race mark of 2:00.1 at three, with $38,555.

As a broodmare, Laugh A Day was much more productive, having dropped 13 foals.  Her top three foals include:  Strong Life (Life Sign), a 14-race winner of $305,065 with a mark of 4, 1:50;  Catch A Wave (Beach Towel) p, 1:54.1, a 16-race winner of $74,012; Matt's Dude (by Matt's Scooter), p,4,1:52.2, a 14-race winner of $73,876.  Her last foal was a Badlands Hanover filly, foaled April 3, 2005.
