Presidential Ball Returns to North America

February 20, 2007

Presidential Ball is returning to Ontario at Hagar's Casimir Farms after another season at Alabar Stud in New Zealand, and he left the Southern Hemisphere on a high note.

Presidential Ball is the sire of Australia's current leading two-year-old performer, Maffioso. The colt is out of Lindsey Leigh (Artsplace-Wendy Jo Hanover), whose dam produced Walton Hanover and Wendymae Hanover, the dam of Western Hanover.

Maffioso is Lindsey Leigh's first foal and he is undefeated in two career starts, including a victory in the $25,000 Christian Cullen Premier Stakes at Moonee Valley, Australia's first major stakes event of the season. He is also the current favourite for the premier $300,000 Australian Pacing Gold and his yearling Red River Hanover brother just sold for $70,000 at Melbourne.

Presidential Ball also has a favourite in the $50,000 Linden Huntley Little Memorial. Shechoseus, a two-year-old filly, just won a qualifier in a very impressive 2:00 at Newcastle.

As well, Malabar Maple, the leading two-year-old stallion in New Zealand, will be returning to Tara Hills Stud in Port Perry, Ont. for the 2007 North American breeding season.
