Jamieson, MacDonald Hurt at Flamboro

November 27, 2006

Driver Jody Jamieson was reportedly in good spirits Monday, November 27 following an accident Sunday night at Flamboro Downs, in which driver Mark MacDonald suffered what are believed to be minor injuries. The accident occurred in Sunday night's fourth race at Flamboro, with MacDonald driving Master Jonathan and Jamieson behind Motion Potion.

"Mark's horse ran in front of me, and I didn't have a lot of room," Jamieson said. "I tried to miss him but all I could do was not really run into the back of him. I tried to stop my horse but momentum just carried him right through, and I hooked Mark's wheel and it dragged his bike sideways."

MacDonald was thrown from his mount, but Jamieson and his horse managed to stay upright. Both MacDonald and Master Jonathan were up quickly, and the horse escaped injury.

"As far as I know he banged his knee - he's got a red mark on the inside of his knee - and he was worried about his elbow. He thought he might have pulled a ligament," Jamieson said. "He was pretty sore but he drove himself home."

With 668 Canadian wins this year, MacDonald needs just 25 more to break his record of 692 wins in one season.
