Jag de Bellouet sets the stage for Prix d'Amerique

Jag de Bellouet returned to the form he showed in winning the 2005 Prix d'Amerique by captured the $850,000 Prix de Cornulier---the world's wealthiest trot race under saddle--Sunday afternoon at Paris' Vincennes Racetrack. The nine-year-old stallion by Vikings Way vied against 29 rivals to score in a new stakes record of 1:58.2 for the one and 11/16th's mile test, becoming the first horse in history to win the event three years in a row. He now looks for a repeat in next Sunday's (January 29) $1.2 million Prix d'Amerique, one of Europe's most prestigious trotting events.
