Driver Jackie Ingrassia July 9, 2004 by Kimberly A. Rinker
Horsewoman Jackie Ingrassia came to the United States from her home country of England, where she was born and raised in Ipswich Suffolk in January of 1947. An accomplished rider and all-around horsewoman, Jackie is considered to be one of the most successful female drivers ever, having amassed over $4.1 million in earnings from 1,004 career victories.
Her best year to date came in 1989 when she steered the winners of $352,922 and put together a 80-83-74 record from 531 winners. She also became the first female driver ever to win the Yonkers Trot, a feat she accomplished behind the trotter Goalfish in the 2000 edition of that prestigious event.
