Looking Ahead: Monday at Maywood

Incredible Finale Series Continues for Freshman Fillies

December 10, 2005

Three fields of freshman pacing fillies vie Monday (Dec 12) night at Maywood Park as the Incredible Finale Series continues. Slated as races Two, Five and Nine on the eleven-race card, each dash carries a purse of $5,500 and features some of the finest Illinois conceived and foaled distaffs currently in competition.

In the first division (Race Two) trainer Kyle Jones sends out TJ’s Molly May from post two with driver Sam Widger in the sulky. The daughter of former Illinois Free For Aller Park Place will be looking for her first pari-mutuel victory in her 16th career start for owners Terry and Judith Bennison of Galva, Il. TJ’s Molly May comes off a strong, second-place effort to rival Shes A Big Star at Balmoral on December 4, when she paced in 1:56.2 with Widger at the lines. She’ll be leaving from post two.

Shes A Big Star (post five) will be looking for her second consecutive victory coming out of the aforementioned event for driver Andy Miller and trainer Nelson Willis. The daughter of Incredible Finale has four wins in only nine career starts and just over $22,000 in earnings, making her the richest of the six fillies in the field for owner John Krasnican of Streator, Il. Completing the first division field are Ericamissamerica (15-1, post one), Dotsies Place (7-2, post three), Mighty Buffy VS (10-1, post four) and Dani’s Star (12-1, post six).

Carlees Conquest heads up the second division (Race Five) from post three for trainer Homer Hochstetler. The Art’s Conquest lass is the richest ($15,490) and fastest (1:55.2) filly in the group of six and will be trying for her fifth career win in her 15th start this season. She is paired with Andy Miller, and has three straight wins to her credit at Balmoral coming into this stake elim for owners Hat Trick Racing LLC & Were All In Racing LLC.
Other contenders include: Battleshoe Dee (5-2, post one), Mid West Hottie (12-1, post two), Justina Jones (post four, 7-2), Graceful Model (post five, 9-2) and Chrismar’s Joy (6-1, post six).

Jim and David Rowney’s Little Sweetheart heads up the third Incredible Finale division (Race Nine) from post two, with Sam Widger in the sulky. Trained by Jim, the Arts Conquest filly has two wins to her credit in 17 career starts and a mark of 1:58.2, taken earlier in the season at Balmoral.

Fox Valley Rita will be trying to stop Little Sweetheart’s bid for win number three from the rail. Trained and owned by Kyle Jones, the Richess Hanover lass is fresh off a 2:00.4 victory one week ago, and will have regular pilot Tim Tetrick back in the sulky. Dudleys Bonus (9-2, post three), Ms Macatic (post four, 12-1), Special Promises (post five, 6-1), Heartland Charmer (post six, 7-2) and Jolene’s Princess (post seven, 4-1) round out the field of seven filly pacers.

The Incredible Series is for two and three-year-old pacers who are non-winners of two races or $5,000 lifetime as of November 1, 2005. The $10,000 (est.) Finals for each of the four divisions will be raced the third week of this month: Dec.20 (2yo fillies-Balmoral), Dec.21 (3yo fillies-Maywood), Dec. 22 (2yo colts-Balmoral) and Dec. 23 (3yo colts-Maywood).
