Intercontinental had an extremely brief racing career, saving her best for her time in the broodmare shed.  Trained by Ron Gurfein, she had minor soundness issues that nevertheless  kept her from succeeding on the racetrack.

Know to those close to her as "aloof" mare, Intercontinental was, however, a good mother and great producer.  She is best known for foaling the 1996 Hambletonian winner and Horse of the Year, Continentalvictory.

Her first mating to Prakas produced the 1987 filly Atlantic, 2, 1:58.1 ($87,267), a $17,000 yearling purchase.  Her next foal, a Prakas filly named Beyond Seas, was a $25,000 yearling who never raced and her third foal, a Royal Prestige colt named Foreign Power who sold fo $15,000 as yearling, failed to hit the track as well.

However, just like fine win, Intercontinental got better with age.  When coupled with Speedy Somolli, she produced the 1990 colt LV Glory Bound, a $118,000 yearling who went on to earn $179,382 and record a sophomore record of 1:57.2.

She next produced the double-gaited performer Time Power (by Valley Victory), a $46,000 yearling filly who would earn $76,848 with a 1:54.2f pacing mare at four and a Q2:09f mark at five.

Intercontinental's next foal by Valley Victory was the $112,407 winning Greatest Victory, 3, 1:57 who sold for $80,000 as a yearling.

Her next pairing with Valley Victory produced Continentalvictory, one of the top trotting mares of the 1990s.  In her Hambletonian elim she trotted to a winning 1:52.1.  A $100,000 yearling, she earned $1,611,170 and later sold in foal to Malabar Man for $760,000 in 1998.

Intercontinental went on to produce two Valley Victory fillies:  Worldclass Victory 2,Q2:04f ($25,297) and US Victory 3, 2:01 ($5,750).  Her next foal was the 1998 Valley Victory colt Victory Abroad 3,1:54.4F ($595,349), followed the next year by Foreign Victory 3, T1:58.0M 0 $17,311--the last time she was paired with Valley Victory.

When paired with Muscles Yankee for the first time she produced the 2000 colt Stand Strong 4, 1:55.2M ($231,916). Feel The Flow 3, Q1:57.2M ($53,011), a son of Self Possessed was born in 2001, and in 2003 Rare Gift, 3, 1:59.0F ($3,770) was born.

Global Possession, 3, Q2:03.2M ($520) a 2004 filly by Self Possessed, did little on the track, while her 2006 colt Cantabcontinental (by Cantab Hall) 3,1:57.4 M ($28,225) was mildly successful.

Baaria (by Cantab Hall) was foaled in 2007 and took a mark of 1:58.2  in 2010 at three, earning $18,730, while Intercontinental's 2008 colt Master Continental (by Master Gilde) is a freshman in 2010.

Overall, Intercontinental has produced 16 money winners from 18 starters, with toal foal earnings just shy of $3 million.
