ICF Events Contested Saturday at Balmoral
Saturday, July 29, 2006
Balmoral played host to nine ICF stake races Saturday night.
Bandelin captured the $50,000 Fox Valley Evita Stake for freshman trotting fillies in 2:01.2 with Dale Hiteman at the lines for trainer and owner Jerry Logan of Coffeyville, KS. Fox Valley Smoothy was second for Dave Magee and trainer Erv Miller.
New Balance scored in 1:59.1 for trainer and co-owner Lavern Hostetler in the $50,000 Plesac for freshman trotting colts. Wildmanty was second for Ron Marsh and Pam Coleman.
Orgami Rose captured the $50,000 Incredible Tillie for freshman pacing fillies in 1:54.2 with Sam Widger in the bike for trainer-owner Stanley Miller of Indiana. Fox Valley Backoff picked up second with Dean Magee for trainer Homer Hochstetler.
Miller then watched as his sophomore pacing filly Free won the $50,000 Loyal Opposition stake with Sam Widger in 1:52. Street Dancer nailed second for Dale Hiteman and trainer Nelson Willis.
Victor’s Finesse won the $50,000 Fox Valley Flan for sophomore trotting fillies in 1:56.2 with Brent Holland driving for trainer Erv Miller. Go Go Gabby (Dave Magee) grabbed second for trainer Roger Welch.
The $50,000 Incredible Finale Stake for sophomore pacing colts was taken by Isn’t That Crazy with Dale Hiteman in the bike for trainer Ken Rucker in 1:51.4 by a neck over rival Third Day (Brent Holland and trainer Jim Eaton).
Litigator captured the $50,000 Kadabra Stake for sophomore trotting colts in 1:56.4 with Ryan Anderson in the sulky for trainer Roger Welch. Crown Vic was second for Dave Magee and trainer Homer Hochsteter.
The $50,000 Mini Me for freshman pacing colts was won by Glass Pack, with Dale Hiteman at the lines for trainer Tom Simmons in 1:51.4. Incredibley Rich was four lengths behind the winner with Dean Magee driving for trainer Joel Smith.
The $15,000 Mikes A Myster Aged Trotting Stake, contested at one and a half miles, saw Roger Welch stablemates finish one-two in 2:57.3. Victor’s Pursuit (Dave Magee) bested Arcola (Mike Oosting) by just over a length.
In the $20,000 Big Tom stake for aged pacers Incredible Art (Mike Oosting) scored a neck victory in 1:50.4 for trainer Nelson Willis over Go Warrior Go (Dave Magee) and trainer Darcy Pletcher.
